SHARON DUNN's An Island in Time: Exploring Bound Brook Island, Its Land & People, Its Past & Present (The Rose Press, 2022) tells the story through time of one particular square mile on Cape Cod, and includes poems, historic and contemporary photos and maps, as well as original research into the community that once lived there. She plumbs the mysteries of this "rural paradise," as her friend Jack Hall called it. Her memoir Under a Dark Eye: A Family Story (Texas Tech University Press, 2017) incorporates prose and poems as well as over sixty images to tell the story of her parents' outer and inner lives. Her two books of poetry are: Refugees in the Garden (The Rose Press, 2009) and My Brother and I (Finishing Line Press, 2012). She was editor/publisher of the literary magazine AGNI for issues 7-25/26 and was partners with her brother Michael Dunn in building Duncraft, a now third-generation family business in New Hampshire. In recent years she has become an activist for bridging between divides and is a member of Hands Across the Hills and Bridge4Unity. She lives in Western Massachusetts and on Bound Brook Island, Wellfleet, Cape Cod, with her husband, author John J. Clayton. |
